I gave the same answer when asked what a person can do in a situation where they struggle to achieve positive outcomes.
The different perspective the individual sees may not only help them achieve more positive results, but also strengthen the decisions taken and the outcomes in a more positive direction.

People are structured to seek a win. Sometimes at any cost. And when it comes to perspectives in different situations, individuals often miss essential information lying in their conservative and self-focused “facts and thinking”. This focus not only limits one’s own decisions but also creates unnecessary tension. It is why the broader the range of information collected is, the stronger the ground for positive decision-making becomes.
LOOK AT PERSPECTIVES DIFFERENT FROM YOURS
The better an individual is at collecting information, the broader their view becomes. Making space to understand how the other side thinks, what the logic behind their opinion or position is, makes it easier to cope with the consequences that follow. The different point of view, often seen as a conflicting perspective in situations, is nothing more than the same information interpreted differently. Focusing on clearing the approach and understanding that other perspectives work not only for solving issues or conditions, but also create personal space for growth.
DEMISTIFY THE LOGIC OBSERVED
Now, people, no matter what they think, are conservative when it comes to talking about their logical style. Many years ago, Steve Jobs, speaking in front of a large audience, said that people often don’t know what they need and want, and it is the graphic designer and developer’s job to give them a product they recognize as something people need. It is the same with Elon Musk. Admired for his innovative way of thinking, he created the Cyber Truck – a fancy and futuristic car that should have satisfied people’s needs for both innovation and comfort. The product, although visually appealing, is not particularly popular and creates mixed feelings due to Elon Musk’s conservative approach, which suggests he knows what people need. But instead of judging these choices, an intelligent individual should focus on learning about the grounds of the logic behind the products or decisions. Exploring the elements of the decision not only strengthens the answer to the situation but also works positively on the development aspect of each individual. The deeper the understanding, the higher the level of growth and development.
BALANCE THE WEIGHTS, BUT TAKE WHAT WORKS
“You are wrong and nothing will change my decision about that!” – Maybe you have heard this or a similar phrase many times. While it comes from the conservative view people build, it does not add value. The logic of others is neither correct nor wrong. It is just another perspective of our conservative thinking. The best way to learn from it is to weigh the positives and differentiators against our logic and use the aspects that add to our logic, rather than focusing on fighting the differentiators. No point and lost energy – nothing else. While learning to extract the add-ons from the individual’s logic, it enriches the final decisions and helps lower tension and conflicts.
CREATE YOUR BEST WORKING AGENDA
The best agenda is the one that integrates the most opinions and points of view from many sources. The “one opinion rules them all” doesn’t work anymore. Perhaps it worked in the past when management was more centralized, but now, the broader the view, the more impactful the decisions are. An agenda is meant to work and create better results and an environment if it involves the best-in-class solutions. And they are not one role decisions, but a list of many different options. With that said, individuals must learn how to effectively interact with others to extract the essence of what they say and do, and incorporate it into the solutions they create afterwards. The faster the individual accepts that there are building blocks of the agenda they produce that may not be owned by them, but are inspired by others, the greater the results will be.
TRACK AND CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVE
Considering others’ perspectives, creating a complex individual agenda is not new. However, to make it happen, the person needs to focus on how to move that agenda flexibly, with the intent to upgrade and grow, rather than controlling and sticking to what is known. With the understanding that everything changes, the agenda must be updated regularly to meet the demands of a shifting environment. One challenge may arise in different forms, and only a continuous growth agenda can address its demands without compromising or weakening performance. Anything else is just a compromise, leading to the next big stopper.
IN CONLUSION
The more a person thinks about a problem, the more impactful it becomes. Focusing solely on what’s causing the issues and only on yourself can hinder the solution and create discrepancies in the long term. The more a person can learn to see problems from the other side’s perspective, the easier, faster, and more impactful the solutions to those problems and challenges will be. Learning how to step out of one’s shoes and into the other side’s shoes is not only helpful in gaining a different perspective on an issue, but it also supports a more meaningful solution for both sides. No matter the approach, whether it’s reverse engineering, considering different perspectives, or simply Vuja de, the ultimate solution should be the one that addresses the most significant struggles and minimizes the most tremendous environmental losses.
